Two of us

I wrote my last entry shortly before my release party at Fluc at the end of July 2021 in wondrous Vienna. I was so scared of this event. That no people come, that I will forget my lyrics or that I try to drown my nervousness with alcohol too quickly/too soon. This has happened quite often in the last 10 years. Not cool.

People don't pay for self-pity. That was also my first and only gig with my band. An epic performance in my opinion. The booth was full and I sold a bunch of vinyls. Impressive things have happened since then. Less music but so many Karthasis moments that I think I've gotten back to the starting point. A very good friend of mine recently committed suicide. A few days ago we joked on the set of "Two of us". Now he's gone.

Cutting the material was really tedious.

MOOD CHANGE

I want to chat more about my song "Two of us". There was this girl. I met her at one of my U Bahn Stars gigs.

She came, stayed and then bought merch. The dream listener ;)

In addition, she likes and comments well and gladly. At my release party at Fluc, she showed up with a jar of hemp butter, shoved it in my hand, and grinned mischievously.

The energetic exchange was always in the foreground.

Half a year later, inspired by the great demand when I would release again and the longing to stand in front of a crowd, "Two of us" was born. I wanted the new stuff to sound like the old stuff.

"My Third" sounds like how I felt at the time. Not suitable for radio.

The first steps towards "Two of us" felt different. During the production process, it quickly became clear to me that I had to make a video for this song. The mix was ready and I started to script the video. I also wanted to convey the story in this song authentically. Spoiler alert - it goes, among other things about the interpersonal bond between fan and artist. So I needed a fan for my video. That's when I remembered Liz - the one with the jar of hemp butter.

I messaged her on IG. I was blown away by her reply in the form of a voice message. A few weeks later we shot the first scenes.
